The Philosopher's Stone
The Principles of Truth are Seven; he who knows these, understandingly, possesses the Magic Key before whose touch all the Doors of the Temple fly open."
--The Kybalion
The Seven Hermetic Principles, upon which the entire Hermetic Philosophy is based, are as follows:
1. The Principle of Mentalism
2. The Principle of Correspondence
3. The Principle of Vibration
4. The Principle of Polarity
5. The Principle of Rhythm
6. The Principle of Cause And Effect
7. The Principle of Gender
We will be diving into the Hermetic Philosophy and the Seven Hermetic Principles as taught in The Kybalion by Three Initiates. Here is a summary I put together from Chapters 4 and 5 out of The Kybalion, just to give you an idea of the scope of this course. Enjoy! -Dino Vidovich / Class Facilitator

THE ALL & The MENTAL UNIVERSE
A collection of everything you can possibly imagine in existence--the universe, different universes, different dimensions, realities, other worlds and all of the contents within all of those things; let's refer to that singular mass of everything as "The All".
The All is ALL there really is. Nothing can exist outside The All, for then The All would not be The All. The All cannot be subtracted from, added to, divided or multiplied. It would not be The All if parts were taken away from it, and it wouldn't be The All if there were more than one, or if there was something outside of itself in which it could add to itself from. The All is infinite for there is nothing else to define, confine, bound, limit or restrict The All. It must be infinite in time, or eternal. It must have always continuously existed, for there is nothing else to have ever created it; It must continuously exist forever, for there is nothing to destroy it, and it can never not be, even for a moment, because something can never become nothing. It must be infinite in space, it must be everywhere, for there is no place outside of The All. It cannot be otherwise than continuous in space, without break, cessation, separation, or interruption, for there is nothing to break, separate, or interrupt its continuity, and nothing with which to "fill in the gaps." It must be infinite in power, or Absolute, for there is nothing to limit, restrict, restrain, confine, disturb or condition it. It is subject to no other power, for there is no other power.
At it's essence, The All is unchanging for there is nothing outside of itself to impress change upon it, nothing into which it could change, nor from which it could have changed.
So is The All the Universe? No, because the Universe is constantly changing. The All is never changing for the reasons previously stated(there is nothing outside itself to impress change upon it, nothing into which it could change, nor from which it could have changed).
So is The All Energy? No, because Energy is devoid of Life and Mind, and as Life and Mind are manifested in the Universe, The All cannot be Energy as nothing in the Universe can rise higher than it's source -- nothing manifests in the effect unless it is in the cause -- nothing is evolved unless it is involved.
So what is higher than Energy that we know to be existent in the Universe? Life and Mind.
So is The All Life and Mind? Yes and No. It is an Infinite Living Mind. The All is what the Illumined reverently call "Spirit."
Okay, so how does The All create? Well first let us disprove the theory that The All created the universe from itself, because that is not possible as we have seen-The All cannot be subtracted from or divided, because it would no longer be The All. Let's take a look at how humans create. We create by taking outside sources(a paint brush, tools, instruments, etc.) and create new things that haven't yet existed. The All cannot use outside sources because there is nothing outside of itself that it can use. Humans also procreate or reproduce by sex, which is self-multiplication or a transferring of a portion of one's self to their offspring. Again, The All cannot reproduce or multiply itself for then it would not be The All. Okay, so how else do humans create? Mentally; with our minds. We can create entire universes in our minds and in doing so we aren't using any outside sources or reproducing ourselves. Using the Principle of Correspondence(As Above, So Below, As Below, So above), we are justified in concluding that The All creates the universe mentally, in its mind, in a manner similar to the process whereby humans create mental images. So what does that mean? That means that everything in the universe is a creation in the mind of The All; in the mind of Spirit. So what does THAT mean? That means since everything is a creation in the MIND of Spirit, then everything is an ILLUSION, and the only thing that is REAL is Spirit.
